Prescription medicines improve and save lives, turning many deadly diseases into manageable conditions and helping people who suffer from chronic diseases live healthier more productive lives. Access to these medicines is critically important. In the U.S., patients may gain access through various channels, including private health care coverage, such as employer-sponsored insurance, and government programs, such as the Medicare prescription drug benefit (Part D). For uninsured Americans who are financially struggling help is available through the Partnership for Prescription Assistance. And in times of disaster, patients may turn to Rx Response. This program helps ensure continued access to medicine for patients living in areas struck by natural disasters, pandemics, or terrorist attacks. Read more

Caregivers, Take Care: New Infographic on Adherence and Heart Disease

Long-time CPAT partner, Script Your Future has joined with Sister to Sister: The Women's Heart Health Foundation to create an infographic to educate consumers, especially family caregivers and women with heart disease, that taking medication as directed is an important part of managing and preventing heart disease. Share this infographic within your circles and on social media. It has great tips for patients to improve their adherence and to learn more about heart disease.

Exploring Healthcare Quality from a Patient Perspective

The Partnership to Fight Chronic Disease (PFCD) has launched a brief survey relating to patient views on quality. They are seeking responses from people with one or more chronic diseases or who take care of someone with a chronic disease. PFCD encourages CPAT partners to share with their networks and to take a few minutes to respond if you meet either of those categories for inclusion. The survey is accessible here -
